It takes courage and faith to follow your star and be a traveller of the heart. But when you really follow your path, you are aligned with who you are and what your purpose is in life. So even when tough times come and the confusion sets in, you can still be strong in the knowledge that you are doing what you were born to be doing. You will have that inner light shining bright in you and that faith that you are exactly where you need to be, doing exactly what you need to be doing at just the right time.

So if it’s so important for us to follow our star, why don’t we do it all the time? Or at least more of the time?

Well, firstly it seems to be a natural law that people are resistant to change. People like to keep the status quo. And no group seem to like to keep the status quo as much as that of ‘the family’. So if you begin to step out doing what you know you are destined to do, you can be sure you will meet heavy resistance to it from some of your family. And your friends, of course. Many will question you and say you’re crazy and even try to stop you – bless them as they just don’t understand your journey. And anyway, it doesn’t matter, as it’s not their journey to understand. The sooner you can let go of what everyone thinks and instead seek validation from within and the Divine, the more peaceful your journey will become.

The second key thing that happens when you seek to follow your star is that your negative self limiting voices in your head start to crank the volume up. And before you know it you are riddled with self doubt and a plethora of shitty voices telling you things like:

– who the hell are you to do that?

– you’ve lost your mind!

– you have no idea who you are or what you want!

– you will never make it!

– you’re going to lose everything you’ve got!

– it’s too dangerous for you!

– you will be lonely/lost/scared/confused/bored (insert any negative adjective!)!

Know that these voices are not you. They are just the doubting Thomas in you. They are the voices that seek to hold you back, as they do not want you to change. And they do not want you to stand in your power. If you stand in your power, they have no work to do anymore. So as soon as you start to have more belief in yourself and in what you are doing, these voices naturally get stronger so they can try to keep their grip on you. When you notice these voices coming up, start to get to know them. Greet them with a smile, thank them for their warning; and then touch your heart and say ‘I know that I am following my star and that all is well”. And really breathe into that place of trust and faith in yourself and your journey with the Divine. Your heart always knows the answer.

Are you a traveller of the heart, following your star?

What gets in your way? What do you struggle with? How do you keep your focus?

I would love to hear about you and your journey and what works/doesn’t work for you in the comments below.
