You will find more happiness growing down than up!

(Author Unknown)

So often in life, we are told to “grow up and stop being so childish”. Sound familiar?!  In fact, when we are children we are told this WAY too many times! It’s as though it’s good to NOT be like a child – so what does that mean exactly? Then, whenhen when we are adults, we are again told the same: “oh, grow up and stop being so childish”. It’s as though society wants to stop us being child-like when we are children AND when we are adults.

UGH?! WHAT THE HELL?!

SO… when can we be children?!  When are we allowed to play and dance and skip and shout and throw our toys out of the pram?! When are we allowed to get lost in the moment without a care in the world; get mucky without a thought; and do whatever the hell we want?!

Clients I work with have often lost the child-like art of play – no surprise there, with all the restrictions we live with! And play is indeed an art, not a science. Life can get so serious and boxed-in as we ‘grow up’.  We can then feel suffocated and like we forgotten how to have fun.

So, to growing up I say NO WAY!

As the quote above so perfectly says, “You will find more happiness growing down than growing up!”.

  • Where do you need to “grow down” a little in your life?
  • Where might you have been suffocating yourself by being “a serious adult”?
  • What is your inner child longing to do?!

Here’s a pic of me releasing my inner child on a bouncy castle in Spain a few weeks ago. Not only did the kind man let me on, he let me on for FREE!

WIN – WIN! AND IT WAS FAB!
