What does it mean to you to live life aligned?

Are you living YOUR life aligned to who you truly are? If not, do you know what your life would look like if you were joyfully and effortlessly aligned to all of who you are and all of what you can bring to the world?

Do you seek that flowing feeling of true alignment? That inner knowing of being who you are and feeling joyful in each moment? That powerful belief of knowing that you get to create your life and can have it be just as beautiful and incredible as you desire?

Alignment is what life is all about for me. When we are in alignment with who we are and what we are here to do, it’s like the pieces fit.

We no longer get lost down ‘worry holes’, scared of what the future might bring or ruminating over what’s happened. We know that we are on track, living on purpose and in the right place. We can relax, enjoy and be present.

I’ve spent a lot of time searching for the next thing.

I’ve often had one foot in one arena and the other foot in another, whilst all the time looking out to the horizon of what my next ‘fix’ might be. Whether it be a new job, a new country, a new partner, a new sport, a new dance… whatever. There was a feeling of never being fully settled and always searching for ‘the next’ thing… the better thing … the ‘right’ thing.

Lately, I realised that I needed to land. To find my feet. To accept that where I am is just perfect and to enjoy it. To stop that searching for the next and embrace now… fully. And to always FIND THE JOY in everything, everyone and everywhere right where I am!

Since my bicycle accident back in 2012, life has been a struggle. I’ve not been the same person. I lost all my confidence and my zest for life. My body became wracked with pain and my mind consumed by my suffering and fatigue. I kept coming up for air and trying to get my mojo back but I would sink again.

Recently, I decided enough was enough.

I knew that if i didn’t change my thoughts around my health, my work and my relationships, that I was going to end up in a much worse state that I was already in. I had let suffering, anxiety, pain and such like get the better of me – I had lost myself to it; and its story was consuming me.

So, lately, I have decided to THINK MYSELF WELL…literally. I’ve been thinking thoughts of health, of love, of beauty, of empowerment, of fitness, of inspiration, and all sorts of beautiful and magical things. I’ve focussed on the pain free areas, the stuff I can do, the gifts I bring, the magic in life! I’ve begun day-dreaming the FAB stuff!

And you know what?

Life has been bringing me fab, beautiful and magical things in return. It’s amazing! My health is returning, my relationships are strengthening, my work is expanding and my love for me is ever growing! It’s so beautiful! I’ve also committed to my own spiritual growth and healing, and have been working with a wonderful healer – that has been absolutely transformative too (http://www.attunementsforthesoul.com/).

focus on what you like

Anyhoooo, since my last blog post SO much has happened, I don’t even know where to begin!

Here’s a quick snapshot:

  • I got married to my soulmate who I met after setting off on a one-way to India to follow my heart back in November 2014 – our dreams of marrying in the UK with my father performing the ceremony came true! (Photo credit: the one and only absolutely amazing Abby Wilkes http://www.abbywilkes.com/);

  • I started running a hotel and camel safari business in the desert town of Jaisalmer in India (Rajasthan) with my now husband (since July 2015);

  • I was rescued from the Nepali earthquake (back in April 2015) – myself and my husband were so blessed to have survived this tragic event (the pic is from ‘The Telegraph’ showing the moment I was reunited with my family after being flown back by the UK Embassy);

  • I have expanded my Leaders of the Heart coaching/healing business and now run a wonderful Facebook group with almost 1000 women (you can join here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/LeadersoftheHeart/)

  • I have just run a gorgeous program helping women re-connect to their joyful essence. I will be doing more of the same in the future!

  • I have returned to my part-time work as a Senior Lecturer at Birmingham City University (in the UK), where I teach and research about Human Communication as well as providing Confidence & Communication Coaching. Among other lovely things, I’ve just been nominated for ‘The Most Engaging and Inspiring Teacher of Year’ – woo hoo!

Also, I’ve realised lately that I looooove writing. Well I kinda knew that, as I am an academic and obviously have to write a lot at University! But I love writing in my business too. Actually, I love writing most of all in my business, as the words flow straight out of my heart. And I am good at writing! It’s a gift, a gift I am not fully using. So I am going to commit from now on to writing at least one blog post a week. Mmm, that feels good 🙂

Thank you for reading, if you’ve reached the end. I love your support; and thank you for being part of my journey. I would love to hear your thoughts about finding your own alignment in life. And of dealing with your own issues around anxiety, chronic pain and fatigue (or anything else that touched your heart in this post).

More soon! Blessings always.

With love and joy,

Mills  AKA The Leader of Hearts
